Certified vehicle appraisals in North Carolina

North Carolina has added people and vehicles faster than almost any state, and the coast still takes a hurricane season every year. When the claim lands, the offer came from valuation software rather than a Charlotte or Raleigh lot. Certified independent appraisals, online statewide, from $250.

TOTAL LOSS OFFERS

The insurer number is not final

When a North Carolina insurer declares your vehicle a total loss, the settlement figure came out of valuation software running averages. You are entitled to your own appraisal. We document the condition, options and mileage of your specific vehicle and deliver a certified number you can defend.

DIMINISHED VALUE

A repaired car still sells for less

Your car was repaired properly and it still shows an accident on every history report a Charlotte or Raleigh buyer will pull. They pay less for it, and that gap belongs to you. We document it with comparable sales rather than an assumed percentage.

COASTAL STORM LOSSES

Hurricane season reaches the whole coast

Wilmington and the coastal counties take wind and flood damage in seasonal waves, and those claims arrive together and settle fast. A vehicle written off in that rush is easy to undervalue. A photographed, comped appraisal keeps your settlement tied to your actual car.

WHY North Carolina OWNERS CHOOSE US

A fast growing market with a coast to match

North Carolina moves quickly. Charlotte and the Triangle have absorbed enormous population growth, and that shows up as heavy commuter traffic, a deep used vehicle market and a lot of claims. Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point and Fayetteville each trade a little differently, and Asheville and the mountains behave differently again. One statewide average serves none of them well.

Then there is the coast. Wilmington and the counties around it carry real hurricane and flood exposure, and storm losses arrive in waves that put settlement pressure on everyone at once. We document the specific vehicle with photos and comp it against the market it would truly sell in. Flat pricing from $250, quoted before we start.

FAQS

FAQs about vehicle appraisals in North Carolina

Do bankruptcy courts require a professional appraisal?

[faq-start]

  1. What does a vehicle appraisal cost in North Carolina?
  2. Do you need to see the car in person?
  3. Can I dispute the insurer total loss number?
  4. My car was damaged in a hurricane. Does that change anything?
  5. How long does a North Carolina appraisal take?
  1. Flat pricing, quoted before we start. Total loss and diminished value appraisals are $300. Divorce, bankruptcy, classic car, estate and fleet appraisals start at $250, with bulk discounts on fleet work. Call 281-709-3436 or email dewayne@lonestarautoappraisal.com.
  2. No. The process runs entirely online. You shoot guided photos of the vehicle where it sits, in Charlotte, Durham, Wilmington or anywhere else in the state, send the documents, and we verify, comp and certify from there.
  3. Yes. Your state sets the point at which a vehicle is written off rather than repaired, but either way what the insurer owes you is actual cash value. That number came from software. An independent certified appraisal gives you a documented figure to work from, and most policies contain an appraisal clause for this.
  4. The valuation question is the same, but the timing is tighter. After a coastal storm, claim volume and storage clocks both rise, and settlements get pushed through quickly. Getting a documented value early is the difference between negotiating and simply accepting.
  5. 24 to 48 hours from the point we have your photos and paperwork. During storm season we triage by deadline, so tell us what date you are working against when you call.
