Automotive pricing guides stop at the curb. A bass boat with a repowered outboard, a Class A diesel pusher, a barn-find Shovelhead, a gooseneck built in somebody's shop: each has its own market, its own serial-number rules, and its own titling agency. A certified specialty vehicle appraisal documents what yours is actually worth, in a format prepared for insurers, lenders, courts, and DMVs.

Who this is for

  • You need an agreed value or replacement cost on a boat, RV, or motorcycle
  • A Texas specialty vehicle came to you with no title and needs a bonded-title appraisal
  • Your insurer's total loss offer treated a motorhome like a used van
  • A homemade, farm, or gooseneck trailer needs a documented value for titling
  • An estate, divorce, donation, or loan needs a defensible number

What Counts as a Specialty Vehicle

  • Boats and personal watercraft. Bass boats, center consoles, pontoons, ski boats, jet skis, and the outboards and trailers that come with them, valued as a package or broken out separately.
  • RVs and campers. Class A, B, and C motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and truck campers.
  • Motorcycles and powersports. Cruisers, sport bikes, touring rigs, vintage and custom builds, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles.
  • Trailers and equipment. Utility, cargo, livestock, gooseneck, and shop-built trailers, plus tractors and small off-road equipment.

Why Specialty Vehicles Need a Different Appraiser

Three things break when a general auto appraiser takes on a boat or an RV. First, the market data lives somewhere else: marine and RV sales don't show up in automotive guides, so the comps have to come from the right auction houses, dealer networks, and regional listings. Second, the serial numbers hide in odd places, and a hull identification number, a frame VIN, and a shop-built trailer's assigned serial each carry their own verification rules. Third, the titling agency is often not the DMV at all, which changes the format the finished report has to take.

We appraise these categories every week, so the report reflects how the vehicle actually trades, including engine hours, repowers, water and roof damage history, chassis versus coach condition on a motorhome, and whether a custom build adds value or subtracts it.

Fully Online, Nationwide

Qualified marine and RV appraisers are thin on the ground in most of the country. Our process is digital: you send detailed photos, serial-number shots, service records, and any upgrade documentation; a certified appraiser researches your specific market; the report arrives by email. That's how we serve owners in all 50 states and DC at a flat $250.

What Your Report Includes

  • Certified valuation with stated methodology and effective date
  • HIN, VIN, or serial verification and photo documentation
  • Comparable sales pulled from the correct market for that category
  • Boats valued with hull, motor, and trailer itemized where needed
  • Condition and equipment assessment from your documentation
  • Format prepared for insurers, lenders, courts, DMVs, and state titling agencies

Specialty Vehicle Appraisal

FAQs

Do bankruptcy courts require a professional appraisal?

[faq-start]

  1. Can you appraise a boat and its motor and trailer together?
  2. Do you handle RVs and motorhomes?
  3. Can you help with a bonded title on a boat, motorcycle, or trailer?
  4. Can you really appraise a specialty vehicle from photos?
  5. Will my insurer accept it for an agreed-value policy?
  6. How long does the value stay current?
  1. Yes. Boat, outboard, and trailer often title separately and are frequently insured separately, so we can value the package as a unit or itemize each component. Tell us which the receiving office needs and the report is built that way.
  2. Yes: Class A, B, and C motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and truck campers. Motorhomes get chassis and coach assessed separately, since drivetrain condition and living-quarters condition move value in different directions.
  3. In Texas, yes, on our VTR-125 bonded title appraisal at $200 flat. Note that Texas boats and outboards title through the Parks and Wildlife Department rather than the DMV, and homemade trailers may need an assigned serial number first. Outside Texas we don't handle bonded titles, though we can still appraise the vehicle for insurance, resale, or a court matter.
  4. Yes. With a thorough photo set (exterior, interior, engine or drivetrain, hull or frame, and clear serial-number shots) plus service and upgrade records, a certified appraiser can document condition and value to professional standards. If your situation genuinely calls for an in-person inspection, we'll tell you.
  5. It's one of the most common reasons owners order one. Specialty vehicles are chronically misvalued by standard policy software, and an agreed-value or stated-value policy needs documented support. The report is prepared for exactly that use, though your carrier makes the final call on the policy.
  6. Marine, RV, and powersports markets move seasonally. Most insurers, lenders, and buyers want an appraisal dated within the last 12-24 months.
